Since this is my first post on social networking lets start with basic principle's. At it's heart social networking is about making friends (or contacts depending on your personality). And it works very similiar to the way the activity would work in person. Let's take a look at an example........
Your at a sporting good store shopping for golf clubs. Someone is looking at the same clubs. you start talking golf find smooth sailing and common ground. You arrange to go to a game together. And so it goes for 10 more years Viola friendship and a connection.
Social networking is identical. Find groups that cater to interest's you really have. Music , Photography, Architecture so on and so forth. Leave comments on the profiles or send message's to people who have shared interest's. In the course of these conversations make sure you mention casually you are a Real Estate Agent. DO NOT do more than mention it casually. Social networking for the sake of expanding your real estate network is similar to the way you expand your net work socially. Slowly and over time.
Look to provide value to those people in your network. Leave insightful comments on profile's. Give free advice on real estate speculation. Or the name to a really good termite inspector. Just the friends you met in person over time your character and personality will shine through and when your audience is ready to buy a home (if they are home owners) they will contact you.
Another way to use Social Networking is to build a high value email drip marketing campaign. These work best when done in the format of a news letter or blog.
